Sustainability at the National Defence Expo
Sustainability as Part of National Defence Expo
Sustainability is an integral part of how National Defence Expo is planned and carried out. As the Nordic region’s new meeting place for total defense, we have the opportunity to make a difference—by raising important issues, fostering dialogue, and contributing to progress in this field.
Our work is based on established sustainability principles and forms part of Stockholmsmässan’s sustainability strategy.

National Defence Expo and Agenda 2030
The National Defence Expo operates in line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (Agenda 2030). As part of our sustainability efforts, we focus in particular on:
Goal 5 – Gender equality
By promoting greater gender equality within the security industry, National Defence Expo contributes to Goal 5 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (Agenda 2030). This involves creating an inclusive meeting place where diverse perspectives are represented and gender-balanced representation is encouraged.
Stockholmsmässan's sustainability work
Sustainability is about taking into account the needs of both current and future generations, and taking long-term responsibility in our daily activities. Stockholmsmässan’s sustainability work is based on three focus areas: Sustainable Community, Sustainable Environment and Sustainable Innovation. For more information on Stockholmsmässan’s overarching sustainability strategy, please visit their sustainability page here.

About National Defence Expo
National Defence Expo aims to strengthen understanding of the importance of Sweden’s total defence and its central role in developing the country’s preparedness. By bringing together stakeholders from both the civilian and military sectors, as well as public and private organisations, the exhibition provides a platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration and the development of solutions for future crisis management and security.

SKYDD – held in parallel with National Defence Expo
SKYDD is the Nordic region’s largest meeting place for safety and security, fire fighting, rescue work and personal protection, and is held in parallel with National Defence Expo.
Here, you will meet suppliers, public authorities and industry experts presenting solutions in security technology, guarding and protective services, and societal security.
